... Can we change back?

The board theme has been changed for a few reasons:

1 - It was too busy
2 - There wasn't enough contrast, and it was difficult to tell which boards were unread

There are multiple colours available (blue, green, yellow, purple, red), and I'm in the process of looking for another one.

In short... no, it isn't being changed back.

Although, I believe you can select any theme you like from your profile.

Click:
- Profile (or User Control Panel)
- Board Preferences (It's on the left)
- My Board Style

There are a few there, so anyone can pick what they like!

I'm not sure how well I can cope with this new one. I got quite fond of the warm gilded tones of the last one -- so much so that this format kind'v overwhelms me with it's contrasting colours. I mean, I'm all for efficiency (the blue sun doesn't matter, anything can be changed if it really needs to) , I may as well get used to this, but.. comparatively, it's like going from a sauna to an ice-bath. S'kinda cold.

every now and again the board will change, i find it easier to navigate and it gets people to re explore the forum, bringing up old topics and encouraging everyone to understand how to use the forum better.

Like I said: If you like the old one better, just change it back. It can be whatever you like for your profile.

This is the new default because I've received a few messages about the colour contrast and the board being difficult to read.

Final note: If you really, truly hate the new theme, and you can't figure out how to change it, I -can- force it from the administration panel, but it's a bit of a pain. So please follow the instructions before sending me a message.

For those who liked the old board theme, it _IS quite easy to change, i just did it, though I found that I was quite fond of the "yellow sun" version and will be using that instead, (its warmer, and still has great contrast) but the old version is labeled "Guild2" so just select that as your theme and hit 'submit' and everything will go back to before!
