Refer here for the discussion which prompted this threadIts been quite a while since we had a thread that showcased example builds. I still maintain that it would be HIGHLY beneficial if we had a collection of example builds that make use of the various multiplier combos that have been deemed 'spiffy' and included them in the rulebook (or even just on the webpage) so that new players, or old players who would like to try out something new have something to base their stats on. Thus, I am inviting everyone to post sample builds for each of the multiplier sets outlined below. Rules: - One example per post
- I'd like to see the build at low level and accompanied by a higher level extension (How would it look after a while?)
- Each build should have a unique 'name' or identifier so that comments can be accurately targeted.
- Leave comments on your own builds for another subsequent post. Keep the builds all by themselves for clarity.
- I want to see tons of constructive criticism. If you hate someone's build or think it would be much suited to another flavour of character, submit your own. no bashing please.

:'( I can't participate but, I can offer a few hints and tips.
The best way to plan out a long term character is to pick markers for your build so that even if you deviate from the plan, you at least have a sort of guideline to stray back towards. Now, picking up skills here and there obviously change a build at the end, however there is something to be said about not taking spot solutions and waiting out the long haul, relying on your fellow players to deal with the situations you're unable to.
My markers would be around:
* 250XP (Level 10) - Key
* 600XP (Level 24) - Key
* 900XP (Level 36)
* 1300XP (Level 52) - Key
* 1850XP (Level 74)
It is important to evaluate your skill set dependent on the composition of the party, for instance if he party has an abundance of shields, a caster build will be more successful than if the party had very little front line bastions. It may also mean that some form of support be it offensive, defensive, or upkeep on your end will be incredibly useful.

Hiro absolutely is participating by providing his suggestions on how to design a build in real life terms (rather than just on paper). To clarify if it seemed otherwise, but: This thread is not for exposing your character's innards to the wind. its about theoretical builds. what combinations of multipliers and skills go well together to form a character type... ie: certain connection and agility skills with a musical instrument would make a good bard or: might and intellect skills would make a great ranger that kind of thing.

The Minerian ScholarMage1 build focuses on the faculties of the mind rather than the body.... your typical bookworm, living in the dusty catacombs rather than in the greater world above. Since rats tend to live in the catacombs, the character does have a limited ability to defend themselves physically without prepped spells.
This example does not focus entirely on magic as the superdominant skill, since to do so would undervalue the other low multipliers.
The extra spheres of magic provided in this example help provide a caster with good versatility.

You've ignored the fact that Minarian's can't buy Ettiquette for anything else until they have Minarian ettiquette at the same rank... I don't think Profession requires a Lore pre-req any more.

I have a hard time not breaking builds, I see skill combinations, their potential use, and can`t really get beyond that. For me maximizing a builds potential in one route is fairly second nature. I have been asked to, well, not break the system. I don`t mind offering guideline suggestions per se, but anything stat wise I post will be busted. Another piece of advice: Don`t hesistate to look into Might 2 or Magic 2 as a multiplier choice, the penalty and rate of growth early on is a big turn off for sure, but the higher up the ladder you go, the extra XP with a higher multiplier isn`t as bad for certain build types. Agi 1/ Magic 2/ Might 2 comes to mind as an incredibly versatile build. Once you hit the 74plus range those multipliers are simply amazing. The key is not over extending.
