Heart of Minera: Special Acquired Template: Minera has always had a heart.
The original heart-stone of Minera was an artifact-esque crystal which was embedded in the bedrock of the island and which powered the creation of the island. The original heart-stone was probably copied or chipped from the Heart of Geos. Inside the core of Minera, the heart-stone powered the ritual circles and protected the island. The heart-stone gathered to it the souls of worthy dying Minerians and allowed them to pass messages to the living, this meant that Minerians were always able to pass their last messages to the living. Before the island was destroyed by the forces of Oblivion, the heart-stone was removed and concealed so that the island couldn’t easily be recreated [and so that the island could be destroyed].
However, the adventurer priest, Evan, discovered and was exposed to the ancient artifact and it embedded itself deeply into his chest. He then became a living Heart of Minera. Given the fact that the Heart of Minera discovered was so goodly and hopefully aligned, and so willing to bond with someone who was so golden hearted and kind of mind, it has been suggested that another Heart of Minera exists which represents the other side of the scale.
Pre-Requisites: • Willpower: In order to be the Heart of Minera, the character must be strong of Will. The character must have a Willpower score of at least X. [One higher than Evan’s Willpower] • Ritualist: In order to be the Heart of Minera, the character must be a ritualist. Minerian: In order to be the Heart of Minera, the character must be of pure Minerian blood. Halo: In order to be the Heart of Minera, the character must have a pure halo. They cannot have a Shadow Halo, or an absent halo. It is advised that the Heart of Minera also have halo-gift and halo-bridge. • Special: In order to take the Heart of Minera, the character must have the heart-stone of Minera embedded in their chest. The character must be chosen by the heart-stone and by the current Heart of Minera [if there is one]. Taking this template requires System manager approval.
Template Advantages: • Ruler: The Heart of Minera is, by default, the ruler of Minera. The Heart does not need to be the active ruler and could designate anyone else to rule in their stead, however, all law on Minera flows through the Heart. The correct title for the Heart is majesty. • Leadership: The Heart of Minera has the right to command all Minerians. Before the coming of Oblivion, it actually meant all Minerians now however it only means those Minerians who have not chosen to follow Inritius. • Draw on Power: The Heart of Minera is able to use the reserves of power within the ancient artifact. This should not be done too often as the stone is literally a power-source for the island and the more power that is drawn from the artifact • Minerian Knowledge: The artifact contains the collected knowledges of Minera. The Heart of Minera is able to tap into this resource with time and halo. • Rebirth Minera: The Heart of Minera has within the artifact the primary ingredient to recreate the island of Minera. • Ritualist: The Heart of Minera is almost always a powerful ritualist. The Heart-Stone empowers any permanent circle to be at least a +10 circle. The Heart of Minera also gains the ability to contribute to themselves. • Priest of Minera: If the Heart of Minera is a Priest of Minera, their Faith is considered three higher while on Minera. Immortality: While The Heart of Minera remains the Heart of Minera, they are immune to death by aging. In addition, effects which restore the person to life no longer cause permanent Constitution drain. • Minerian Echo: The Heart of Minera is tied into the Minerian Echo.
Template Disadvantages: • Haunted: The heart-stone of Minera used to be a vessel for the souls of Minerians who had died. The souls used to cluster around the heart-stone and pass messages through the artifact to the population so that their unfinished business could be completed and their souls could rest. Once the heart-stone was removed from Minera the souls of Minerans with unfinished business have had no way to have their unfinished business completed and shortly after the heart-stone was removed, the island was destroyed. • Tied to the Land: The Heart of Minera must be on Minera. The Island uses the artifact as its core and its life force. • Destruction of Knowledge: The heart-stone was originally built to be a repository of knowledge as such the destruction of knowledge through senseless destruction or murder floods the Heart of Minera with sadness, despair, and rage. • Moral/Fragile Template: The power of the Heart of Minera comes from the artifact, if the bearer of the Heart ever does anything which would be seen as negative by the artifact, the artifact can reject the vessel and fall lifeless out of the characters chest.
